Dream Outfit

A few weeks back we were invited to a summer wedding later in July, and ever since couldn't stop thinking about the perfect outfit for such a lovely occasion. Piece by piece, we finally came up with our number one dream outfit for a summer wedding: a gorgeous breezy silk dress by Acne, sexy stilettos by Nicholas Kirkwood, sparkling bright blue crystal earrings by Marni, uber-chic nail polish in Periwinkle Blue by Butter London and to top it all, a stylish, summery ostrich clutch in Aqua by Naledi Copenhagen
What's your dream outfit for a summer wedding?

Perfect summer crumble

Remember the perfect apple crumble we couldn't get enough of earlier this spring? Great news: the crumble tastes as delicious if you replace apples with fresh raspberries. Check out ours - fresh from the oven - and try your own version: you won't regret. Bon appetite and have a great weekend!

The Great Gatsby

Photograph Matt Hart/Warner Brothers Pictures via NYTIMES.com
Have you watched The Great Gatsby movie yet? What did you think of it? We are still full of impressions from last night, and continue talking about it. From our subjective point of view, the latest adaptation of the great book hasn't topped the original, and if we are honest, we still prefer the movie version from 1974, with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. We must admit however that Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby is superb, as well as convincingly arrogant, careless Joel Edgerton as Tom Buchanan - Daisy's unfaithful husband. The rest of it is, well, a little over the top, and perhaps not as believable. Or maybe it's just us. Anyways, go see it, it's beautiful. Enjoy and decide for yourself. And oh, perhaps you would like to check a couple of reviews later on: very honest and emotional one by Garance Dore and of course the one from The New York Times.

Eurovision 2013

Photograph Alastair Grant/AP, via guardian.co.uk
Were you watching the Eurovision 2013 in Malmo last night? Who were your personal top favourites? Our highest score went to Ukrainian Zlata Ognevich, who got sooo close to winning this year. Also, spectacular performance by Moldova (what a dress..!), very likeable, catchy tune by Denmark, a great show by Azerbaijan, and such a cool, mellow song by Hungary. Is it just us or the quality of the Eurovision shows has really improved over the past few years?
And now, we are much looking forward to hosting friends already booking their tickets to Denmark for the Eurovision 2014!

J.Crew: are you shopping there yet?

Image of Jenna Lyons, J.Crew, for Fast Company
If you love fashion, admire creativity and shop at J.Crew, you will be delighted to find this article by Fast Company about the transformation of J.Crew brand by the cool and super stylish Jenna Lyons. We discovered J.Crew only last year (thank you Corrie), and ever since couldn't get enough of it during our not-frequent-enough business trips to the US. Luckily, J.Crew started shipping to Europe (flat rate shipping to Denmark is DKK 125, in case you're wondering), hence there is no more excuse not to indulge ourselves a little.
And by the way, we found the link to Fast Company piece on Jenna via our new favourite and absolutely adorable french blog Garance Dore; check out Garance's video-interview with Jenna - tres chic.
Happy shopping !

Plans for the weekend

Life has become a little too hectic lately, and it feels like some of us haven't really been home HOME in a very long time, instead clocking endless air-miles all over Europe. Well, it is time for a (healthy) change: this weekend is the time for celebration. First of all, we have Ukrainian/Greek-orthodox Easter this coming sunday. Second, the spring is finally here, and we'll be celebrating the sun with our first this season bbq on the terrace. And finally, it is time to re-discover all the wonderful things about our cities, starting with Copenhagen: this elaborate Copenhagen City Guide will for sure help us achieve just that, plus provide inspiration for our long anticipated little reunion of BLCK in Denmark. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy being HOME !
