Even though nothing - in our humble opinion - beats the chocolate Easter eggs from Danish Summerbird, sometimes it's fun to experiment with a home-made version. We followed the recipe from a trusted source - CuteCarbs baking blog, and made these rich, sweet, delicious marzipan-dulce-leche chocolate eggs yesterday. It's a tricky business, actually, in particular shaping the eggs and dipping them in chocolate: ours don't look as pretty. Next time will for sure put the marzipan mass in the fridge overnight prior to the chocolate coating.
