Back to baking: Lemon Creme Crumb Bars

It has been a really long time since we baked something new. Luckily this has been a truly relaxing and recharging weekend, and we've managed to try out this delightful recipe of Lemon Creme Crumb Bars found on the Cooking Classy blog, via Bloglovin (perfect place to read and follow any of your favourite blogs).

These lemony, crispy, healthy-ish bars (with lots of rolled oats) were so easy to make, and we highly recommend them for your summer dessert. We swapped a simple sweetened condensed milk with a caramel version (kind of dulce de leche), and also reduced the amount of sugar for the crumble layers to 3/4 cup. Irresistible!

One of the best things in life is getting together for a weekend reunion with your best friends, the friends you made almost two decades ago. It probably doesn't matter where you meet, as long as you are all together at the same place, and last weekend for our BLCK group this place was Copenhagen. 

There is SO much to do, see, eat, drink and enjoy in Copenhagen, and one weekend is definitely not enough (just check out some of the pictures we added in this post, from a cool lifestyle blog The Londoner: they've also been travelling to Copenhagen last weekend!). In our must-enjoy list we obviously had the beautiful food market of Torvehallerne, with the yummiest fresh homemade pasta, delicious prosecco, mouthwatering seafood, gorgeous flowers, fruit and chocolate, and the best coffee in town at Cafe Collective. And of course the summer sale: COS, & Other Stories, Illum Bolighus were at their best. Highly recommend the bright and summery nail polishes at & Other Stories, by the way: fantastic value for your money. To relax and recharge, the sushi from the Sticks'N'Sushi and a visit to the Frederiksberg Gardens (check the baby-elephant!) was just what the doctor ordered. 

Look so much forward to our next reunion. And in the meantime, have a wonderful summer !

City break: Lisbon

If you haven't yet been to Lisbon, you are up for a treat: this charming, relaxed, wonderfully warm and hospitable city is guaranteed to make you feel at home at once. With relatively cheap flights from anywhere in Europe, you can either plan a long weekend in LIsbon or perhaps make a stopover on the way from your summer holidays in Portuguese Algarve. Take a day trip to the breathtakingly beautiful Sintra, enjoy the gorgeous ocean views in Cascais, and of course remember to indulge in portuguese food: Pasteis de Belem alone are worth a trip to Lisbon. For the seafood, you'd have a feast at Ribadouro conveniently located on the central Av. Da Liberdade, and if you are looking for a nice and comfortable stay, we highly recommend Inspira Santa Marta Hotel - perfect location, great service and an excellent spa.

Great news: NARS Cosmetics has officially arrived in Denmark! Sephora at Illum Copenhagen is now carrying these cult beauty products, and we've already put at least three from the latest NARS collection on our wish-list: this pair of cool NARS nail polishes in Ethno Run, a smooth, beautiful satin lipstick in Tolede and a luminous silky blush in Rotonde. A few weeks back we were invited to a summer wedding later in July, and ever since couldn't stop thinking about the perfect outfit for such a lovely occasion. Piece by piece, we finally came up with our number one dream outfit for a summer wedding: a gorgeous breezy silk dress by Acne, sexy stilettos by Nicholas Kirkwood, sparkling bright blue crystal earrings by Marni, uber-chic nail polish in Periwinkle Blue by Butter London and to top it all, a stylish, summery ostrich clutch in Aqua by Naledi Copenhagen.
